Love: What’s Money Got To Do With It?

Every year, OPENSPACE brings you "Questions, Confessions and Closure" series during Valentine's season to help expand our perspectives on pertinent issues that affect all our relationships. As part of the series this year, OPENSPACE deemed it fit to bring this heavily debated convo to you - ‘Love: What’s Money Got To Do With It?’ Hosted at The Woods, Osu in Ghana, on the 18th of February, 2022, the conversation was moderated by Lambert Akwa, the Head of Africa Comms, Twitter. The convo sort to unpack the striking dynamics between financial status and romantic relationships for African professionals, entrepreneurs and creatives.

The conversation was heated with many professionals holding opposing views about how much ‘money’ influences dating, relationships and marriage. What are your thoughts on the effects of money on relationships? Are our male counterparts at the receiving end of the sword? Or is it similar to both men and women?
